Beschreibung:

ANICH, Peter (1723-1766) and Blasio Hueber (1735-1814). Tyrolis . Vienna: 1774. Engraved wall map on 20 sheets joined, overall 2230 x 2195mm, linen-backed and mounted on rollers at lower and upper margins. Titles, keys, and scalebars in decorative cartouches, large bucolic scene with dedication in cartouche above, compass-rose, graticule border. (Some light soiling and discolouration.) The first edition of Anich and Hueber's large wall map of the Tirol. The size, clarity, and accuracy of this work ensured that it remained the standard cartographical reference for the region until well into the 19th century. The map extends from Imenstadt to Salfelden and Lago d'Idro to Feltre and Lienz. The twenty sheets were also published bound as the Atlas Tyrolensis . A reduced edition in nine sheets was published in Paris in 1801 and in 1808 by the Dépot Générale de la Guerre, and another edition was published by Tranquillo Mollo in Vienna in 1801.
