ANGUS, William (engraver, 1752-1821). The Seats of the Nobility and Gentry in Great Britain and Wales in a Collection of Select Views, [London:] W. Angus, 1787[-1810]. Oblong small 4° (210 x 275mm). Engraved title and 63 plates after Sandby, Dayes, Repton, Nattes and others. (Some offsetting of plates onto text, more pronounced towards the end, occasional light spotting and staining.) Contemporary black straight-grained morocco gilt (rebacked, rubbed and lightly soiled). Brunet I, 296; Lowndes I, 47; Upcott xxxiv. Paul Sandby's view of Brocket Hall and its park is illustrated above. With The Copper Plate Magazine, or Monthly Cabinet of Picturesque Prints, consisting of Sublime and Interesting Views in Great Britain and Ireland (London, [n.d.], vol. II only, defective). (2)
