Circa 1860 The silvered dial signed Barraud, 41, Cornhill London , all hands of blued steel, seconds ring at 12 with serial number 2012 , up/down ring at VI, Turkish chapters, the movement with lightly stoned plates, mainframe carrying the barrel and reversed fusee with centre wheel, sub-assembly (punch numbered 2012 ) with chain guard carrying the remainder of the train with Earnshaw-type spring detent escapement with dovetail spring detent to the side of the banking block with jewelled locking stone, blued steel helical balance spring, cut bimetallic balance with wedge-shaped heat compensation weights, brass bowl and gimbal, the three-tier box with brass quarter edging, flush fitting handles to the sides, mother-of-pearl disc to the front and vacant brass plaque to the top lid 110mm. dial diameter; 195mm. square box
