Qing dynasty Comprising three pairs of tall rectangular soapstone seals, 10cm (4in), 7cm (2¾in) and 7cm (2¾in) high; a malachite seal with a lion on an oval base from The Rothschild Collection, 8cm (2 3/8in) high; a square soapstone seal of creamy tone with a lion finial, 4.5cm (1¾in) square; a black soapstone seal with a finial of a lion cub, 8cm (3 1/8in) high; a small orange hardstone seal with a lion finial, 2.7cm (1in) square; an ivory oval seal with lion finial, 4.5cm (1¾in) wide; a bronze shallow seal with a standing qilin finial, from The Goldney Collection, 3.5cm (1 3/8in) square; a brass seal with a lion finial, from the Goldney Collection, 2.5cm (1in) square; a white jade circular seal, uncarved, with a crouching chilong finial, 5.5cm (2 1/8in) diam.; a green jade domed seal with a standing chilong, 4cm (1½in) square; and nine various agate and small jade and jadeite seals, including three agate seals from the Goldney Collection and one celadon jade and three jadeite seals from the Saboia Collection, all contained in a fitted wooden tray.
