AN UNUSUAL PAIR OF COLOURED DIAMOND AND DIAMOND EAR PENDANTS
AN UNUSUAL PAIR OF COLOURED DIAMOND AND DIAMOND EAR PENDANTS Each designed as a cascade of elongated hexagonal-shaped diamonds, terminating in a cushion-shaped fancy brown-yellow diamond weighing approximately 18.09 carats or an old mine-cut fancy brown-yellow diamond weighing approximately 15.08 carats, suspended from a hexagonal-shaped diamond surmount, mounted in 18k white gold, 6.1 cm long Accompanied by two reports nos. 7161864366 and 7161864371 dated 14 February 2014 from the Gemological Institute of America stating that the 18.09 and 15.08 carat diamonds are fancy brown-yellow, natural colour, VS2 and VVS1 clarity respectively Also accompanied by two supplemental letters from the Gemological Institute of America stating the 18.09 and 15.08 carat diamonds have been determined to type IIa. Type IIa diamonds are the most chemically pure type of diamond and often have exceptional optical transparency. Type IIa diamonds were first identified as originating from India (particularly from the Golconda region) but have since been recovered in all major diamond-producing regions of the world. Among famous gem diamonds, the 530.20 carat Cullinan I and the 105.60 carat Koh-i-noor, are examples of Type IIa (2)
