AN UNUSUAL FAMILLE ROSE -DECORATED BLUE AND WHITE BOWL XIANFENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN IRON-RED WITHIN AN UNDERGLAZE BLUE DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1851-1861) The deep, rounded sides rising to a slightly shaped rim and decorated in famille rose enamels on the exterior with lotus plants embellished with tendrils emerging from a narrow wave band above a band of blue enamel key fret encircling the foot, the interior painted in underglaze blue with a related design above a central roundel of four lotus leaves separated by tendrils radiating from a central lotus blossom 6 7/8 in. (17.5 cm.) diam.
