An unusual American electric mantel timepiece, second quarter 20th century The rectangular case with bevelled glass side panels, silvered Arabic dial with subsidiary seconds ring bisecting 60, signed in the centre POOLE and along the lower edge MORSE CHAIN CO. ITHACA N.Y. U.S.A. , the base with spirit level, with housing for batteries in an upright cylinder to the rear of the case -- 11in. (28cm.) high; a French electric wall timepiece , first quarter 20th century, the moulded oak case with glazed front and heavy white marble back, the movement secured by a brass bracket, with white enamel Roman dial signed Electrique Brillié , steel spade hands and sweep centre seconds, the pendulum with spheroidal bob and horseshoe magnet -- 17½in. (45cm.) high; and a small slave dial with 24 hour ring signed Ligeron -- 8in. (20cm.) diameter (3)
