AN ORNATE BALKAN 22-BORE FLINTLOCK SPORTING GUN WITH SILVER-ENCRUSTED DECORATION EARLY 19TH CENTURY With two-stage octagonal to round barrel encrusted with panels of intricate scrollwork, silver encrusted tang and flat bevelled lock each decorated en suite, the latter with roller and raised pan, figured walnut full stock (fore-end incomplete and partially replaced) carved with panels of scrollwork, flower-heads and chequering, the panels bordered by waved lines and sprays of inlaid silver-wire scrollwork, iron mounts with silver encrusted decoration en suite with the lock and barrel, later iron ramrod, and two iron suspension rings (some surface corrosion to exposed iron parts) 36¾in. (93.4cm.) barrel
