* An Italian Walnut Choir Stall late 15th century with later elements in two parts, the superstructure having an overhanging molded projecting cornice above a foliate carved frieze and three inlaid niches spaced by pierce carved brackets, the base fitted with three seats each having a parquetry inlaid back and spaced by shaped brackets, raised on a rectangular plinth. Height 84 1/4 x width 94 x depth 25 1/4 inches. Estimate $ 1,000-2,000 The Property of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Sold to Benefit the Acquisition Fund Age cracks, worming, one large age split through the center section, warped panels, heavier wear on the base, one missing section of carved decoration at the upper frieze, one section of scroll ornament detached but present. Additional photos available upon request. Majority of construction appears to be original/early. Some of the support/structural elements are likely later additions.
