An interesting and unusual properly fully stocked brass mounted unsigned German Zimmer pistol c 1850 finely carved around the metal parts. The butt reminds one of Kuchenreuter pistols as does the trigger guard ending in a vase. The two stage barrel is c 17 cm long in calibre c 5 mm. Beneath the barrel an iron cleaning rod with a brass final held by two pipes. The pistol uses the percussion cap to fire the muzzle loading bullet and a bolt to put tension on the inner hammer. This type of pistol is not in Lewis Winants book Early Percussion Firearms and the maker is unknown.
