An Indian Pata; a Persian all-steel axe; a Nepalese Kora; an Abyssinian Shotel; and two circular steel Dhals The first probably 18th century, the remainder 19th century The first with double-edged blade, and solid iron hilt chiselled with foliage; the second with concentric axe-blade cut on each side with shaped panels of foliage, peen shaped on a stylized monster-head, central spike, and iron haft; the third of characteristic form with heavy single-edged 'fish-tail' blade, iron hilt with knuckle-guard, chequered grip, and disc-shaped pommel; the fourth with deeply curved double-edged blade and waisted horn hilt, in original leather scabbard with belt; the last each fitted with four bosses on the outside, one decorated on the outside with panels of chiselled foliage and Persian verses, the other damascened with silver foliage The first 34in.
