AN IMPORTANT SET OF TWELVE GEORGE II SILVER-GILT DESSERT-PLATES FROM THE KEDLESTON SERVICE MARK OF WILLIAM CRIPPS LONDON, 1758, SUPPLIED BY PHILLIPS GARDEN Shaped circular and with reeded rim applied with berried laurel leaves, the borders chased with trailing foliage and sunflowers, the centre engraved with a coat-of-arms within a shell and scroll cartouche, each marked on reverse and engraved with scratch weight 9½ in. (24.5 cm.) diam. 246 oz. (7,647 gr.) The arms are those of Curzon for Sir Nathanial Curzon, later 1st Lord Scarsdale. (12)
