AN IMPORTANT ANTIQUE EMERALD AND DIAMOND BROOCH Designed as an openwork old-mine-cut dimond foliate plaque, centering upon a rectangular-cut emerald, flanked on either side by a calf's head-cut emerald, mounted in silver and gold, circa 1890 With reports CS 37920 and CS 37921 dated 23 August 2005 from the American Gemological Laboratories stating that based on available gemological information, it is the opinion of the Laboratory that the origin of the emeralds would be classified as classic Colombia. It is the opinion of the Laboratory that these materials exhibit evidence of faint to moderate clarity enhancement (The center emerald with Oil Type Treatment/Canadian Balsam and the sides with Oil Type Treatment)
