AN IMPERIAL CARVED AND INSCRIBED CELADON JADE MOUNTAIN BOULDER QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795) The irregular material is finely carved as a mountain boulder, depicting two immortals, one holding a long lingzhi stem, standing on a promontory that juts out into a valley below, amidst pine and wutong trees. Above the figures, on one side of the rock face, is inscribed an imperial poem. The reverse side of the boulder is detailed with a flow of water, emerging from the far distant mountain top and falling into crashing waves in the near distance. One side of the rock face is naturalistically rendered using the russet skin of the natural material. The stone is of a milky-white tone with a slight celadon tinge. 8 1/4 in. (21 cm.) wide, box
