An Illuminated Ottoman Qur'an, Copied by Hafiz Mustafa al-Na'imi, Turkey, Dated 1283 AH/1866 AD Arabic manuscript on paper, 304 leaves plus 2 flyleaves, 15 lines to the page, written in neat naskh script in black ink, verses separated by white-centred gold roundels pointed in orange and blue, surah headings in red thuluth script, margins ruled in blue, black, gold and silver, catchwords, illuminated floral marginal devices throughout, opening double-page illuminated frontispiece decorated with garlands of natural looking polychrome flowers, text separated with gold cloud bands bordered with ropework motifs, double-page illuminated finispiece with colophon, cornerpieces composed of polychrome flowers on gold ground, red morocco binding with tooled medallions and bordered with rotating foliate motifs, with flap 25.4 by 16.2cm.
