AN EXTREMELY RARE FLAMBE -GLAZED VASE, HU YONGZHENG IMPRESSED FOUR-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735) The pear-shaped vase is strongly potted with a full rounded body moulded with three sets of raised triple bands around the belly, below the waisted neck and around the flaring mouth rim, set with a pair of angular loop handles with ruyi -head terminals. The vase is covered on the exterior with an unctuous glaze of rich red and purple tones, thinning to brown over the extremities, the interior with a pale blue glaze and the base washed in café-au-lait and splashed with celadon. 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) high
