An extremely rare Charles I ascribed Wessex area Virgin and Child finial spoon with a large polyfoil nimbus pricked "S.D S.D 1634" engraved in the bowl with a later crest and inscribed on the back of the stem "the Virgin Mary and Christ", the finial and bowl gilded (probably later), stamped in the bowl with T.R monogram mark and on the back of the stem with a cinquefoil and 'animal' marks, by Robert Tyte, Salisbury circa 1634 - 17.75cm long, 1.5oz.
