With browned twist octagonal barrels each with silver fore-sight and signed in full along the top flat at the breech, the latter each with broad platinum line and platinum-lined touch-hole, grooved case-hardened tangs each engraved with foliage and incorporating the back-sight, signed case-hardened border engraved serial numbered detented locks each decorated with a martial trophy on the tail, safety-catches, rainproof pans, blued steel-springs with rollers, and foliate engraved 'French' cocks, the internal working parts polished bright, figured full stocks each with grooved spur, chequered rounded butts, oval pommels each inlaid with a border engraved oval bright steel plate, engraved blued steel mounts including border engraved spur trigger-guards (one with some surface rust and minor loss of finish on the inside) each engraved with the maker's address in an oval on a martial trophy and foliage, blued set trigger, blued turned ramrod-pipes, and original horn-tipped ramrods, in little used condition throughout, with virtually all their original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including three-way powder-flask covered in red leather, turnscrew and pricker, bullet mould, loading/cleaning rod, and two oval paper (one torn) targets serial numbered in ink to the pistols, the interior of the lid with illustrated trade label for 1814-22, the exterior with circular brass escutcheon engraved with owner's name 'Mr. Oswald, Shieldhall', the whole set in exceptional original condition 25.4 cm. barrels
