The large and impressive covered trophy cup raised on a domed base with leaf tip banded border beneath repousséd grapevine wreath upon which rises a pedestal form stem with acanthus socket holding a large urn form bowl, the sides heavily repousséd in high relief depicting an equestrian hunt scene and further repousséd with scrolling foliage and flowers encircling a blank shield form cartouche, the sides set with matching scroll handles terminating in dogs heads. The rim repousséd with grapes vines and the fitted lid with acanthus leaves beneath a bulbous finial mounted with a hound. Silver hallmark for Sheffield, marker's mark of Samuel Roberts & Charles Belk, and date mark for 1874. Height 16 inches. Total weight 53 troy ounces.
