AN EMPIRE ORMOLU AND PATINATED BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK 'AU BON SAUVAGE' WITH CALENDAR Paris, circa 1800; the case attributed to Deverberie, the dial signed Gaston Jolly, dial and movement possibly associated to case The drum-shaped case flanked by drapery and surmounted by the seated figure of America upon a palanquin with a hound, supported on the shoulders of four African boys, on a plinth base with intersecting hunting horns enclosing an alternating band of dogs centred by a stag within a vine leaf and grape border, raised on paw-feet, the white enamel dial, signed GASTON JOLLY A PARIS , with engraved-ormolu hands and blued-steel hand for day of month, the eight-day twin-barrel movement with anchor escapement, silk suspended pendulum and countwheel hour and half-hour strike on bell; pendulum 60 cm. high x 56 cm. wide
