An Egyptian terracotta lion head Ptolemaic Period, circa 323-30 B.C. Depicted with large eyes, with finely incised details including the ears, whiskers and mane, with some traces of pale green glaze, 4.5cm high Fußnoten Provenance: Desmond Morris collection, Oxford, acquired in the early 1970s. There is a similar Ptolemaic cat head portrayed in limestone from Naukratis in the British Museum, London, acc. no. 1905,0612.9, and another in terracotta, also in the British Museum, acc. no. 2011,5009.288, thought to represent Bastet.
