AN EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE OFFERING TABLE FOR SAT-WESERYT MIDDLE KINGDOM, DYNASTY XI-XIV, 2040-1640 B.C. Square in form, the sides bevelled, with a short square runoff channel projecting from one side, the center of the top hollowed in two levels but for a dome along the edge opposite the channel, perhaps a stylized loaf of bread, inscribed in hieroglyphs, reading, "...subsisting on bread. ...fowl. ...everything good and pure [for the Ka of?] the Venerated One Sat-[weser]yt, [justi]fied," the borders also inscribed, reading, to the right, "A royal offering formula (to) Osiris, Lord of Busiris, Great God, Lord of Abydos, Invocation-offerings of bread and beer, oxen and fowl for the (female) Venerated One with the Great God, Lord of Heaven(?), Sat-weseryt, justified," and to the left, "A royal offering formula (to) Anubis, He Who is Upon his Hill, Who is in the Embalming-place, Lord of the Cemetery, in all of his places, Invocation-offerings of bread and beer, oxen and fowl, for the (female) Venerated One with Re, Sat-weseryt, justified" 15½ in.
