AN EDWARDIAN LARGE SILVER CENTERPIECE COMPOTE, maker's mark of the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co., London, 1908, with watery hammer finish, the molded raised base chased with running undulating floral band, below the partly concave fluted trumpet form stem, top of stem applied with four open straps, the shaped circular bowl with compressed mid section chased with running fruited tendrils, with shaped rim, and with two upswept handles, the sides of the top join applied with foliate cluster-- 15¾in. (40cm.) high and width over handles 19¼in. (48.8cm.), 131oz.
