An early Worcester octagonal coffee cup, c.1753, of rare large size, applied with a double C-scroll handle, painted in enamel colours with a Chinese figure with chinoiserie vases and flowers, Barbara Leake and Cohen Collection labels, H. 6.3cm Estimate £2,000-3,000 Provenance: The Cohen Collection, Albert Amor Ltd Bonhams, The Barbara Leake Collection, Lot 164, 12 Mar 2008, London, New Bond Street The cup is slightly mis-shapen in manufacture, there is some occasional minor black speckling to the glaze in places and there is some heavier fritting to the glaze on the very interior in the bottom of the cup otherwise in good condition with no restoration chips or cracks, a pleasing example.
