AN ARCHAISTIC YELLOW JADE GUI/BI 18TH/19TH CENTURY Both sides well carved in shallow relief with taotie masks, the disc bisected on one side by a gui with raised median ridge carved at its base with waves crashing against a rock above a flaming pearl projecting from the edge and with an astrological symbol at its tip flanked either side by projecting dragons, the edge further carved with two projecting bats with spread wings, the semi-translucent stone of yellow tone with small areas of pale russet color at the tip of the gui and in one bat 5 5/8in. (14.3cm.) high
