AN ARCHAISTIC WHITE JADE ‘CICADA’ PENDANT Katalognummer: CA0917-158 White jade with cloudy pattern, partial russet inclusions and veining, smooth surface polish China Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) Triangular carving in the slender shape of a stylized cicada with angular head and very pointed fins, the facet frontside with finely cut cicada relief in archaic style, the head with articulated eyes, fine grooves delineating the head, the wings with a finely incised C-scroll pattern, verso with incised lines and grooves outlining the animal’s abdomen.
