AN ANTIQUE RUBY AND DIAMOND NECKLACE Suspending a bezel-set oval-cut ruby, weighing approximately 6.73 carats, within an openwork old European and single-cut diamond scalloped surround, from a line of circular and old European-cut diamonds, to the neckchain, designed as a graduated series of bezel-set cushion-cut rubies, weighing from approximately 4.67 to 1.79 carats, each within an openwork circular, old European and single-cut diamond scalloped surround, spaced by circular and old European-cut diamond clusters, mounted in silver-topped gold, circa 1880, 17 ins. With report 0801558 dated 4 February 2008 from Gübelin Gem Lab stating that gemmological testing revealed characteristics consistent with those of rubies originating from Burma (Myanmar). No indications of heating With report CS 39475 dated 27 February 2008 from the American Gemological Laboratories stating that based on available gemological information, it is the opinion of the Laboratory that the origin of these rubies would be classified a Burma (Myanmar). Heat Enhancement: None. Clarity Enhancement: None Accompanied by a supplemental letter stating that the American Gemological Laboratories has completed an analysis of the gem materials contained in the ruby and diamond necklace described in detail in AGL Report No. CS 39475. This examination includes a comparative study of the various visual elements that contribute to the overall uniformity or Match Rating that define unique and well-executed jewelry items.
