Jordon 9th Dec. 1916," the other side with a depiction of Mother India ( Bharat Mata ), inscribed below, Janani janmabhumischa shargwadwapi gariyashi ("Mother and motherland are superior to Heaven") in Sanskrit, Bengali script, enclosed in a case 3 1/8 in. (7.8 cm.) long, the pendant 5 ¾ in. (14.7 cm) long, the chain 3 oz. 2 dwt. (98.8 gr.)
