An amusing Victorian novelty four-piece condiment set comprising: a trefoil-shaped dish moulded with simulated basketwork and with a rope-twist border and three handles, containing three kittens with realistically-chased fur and with bows around their necks, each one holding an oblong label engraved: "Salt, Pepper and Mustard", the two former examples with pierced detachable covers, the mustard pot with hinged cover, the three condiments Robert Hennell London 1875 , the basket James Barclay Hennell, London 1878, each also with a diamond patent registration mark , the basket with a vacant circular cartouche - 3½in. (9cm.) wide, the kittens 3in. (7.75cm.) high, 15.50oz.; and a white-metal condiment spoon with ball terminal. See Plate 4 (5)
