Expediting the sifting process for precious metals, the wooden device was shaped like a trough and measured up to 15 feet in length. To fully utilize the long tom's potential, six to eight men were required to work the device at one time. From the Collection of Edward Eberstadt & Sons
Unframed and Unstretched. Light surface dirt. Scattered stains, abrasions and creases. Wear along the edges. Particular discoloration at upper left. Overall fair condition.
