Watercolor and pen and ink on paper, 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 in., in a 20th century wood frame. Condition: Tears u.c., c.r., and l.r., pigment loss l.c., center crease, toning. Note: Two notes, one affixed to the backing and one inscribed on a piece of cardboard padding, indicate that the drawing is "An American Indian's remarkable early rendition of our national emblem" and was "originally purchased in the 1930's on a western U.S. visit & given to Paul MacAlister for his eagle collection, 1953 Lake Bluff, IL."
