Beschreibung:

CGC certified: NM (9.4). Off-white pages. Not cleaned and pressed. Cover: Gil Kane pencils, Frank Giacoia inks. Story: Stan Lee and Gil Kane Gil Kane pencils, Frank Giacoia inks. Lettering: Artie Simek. GPAnalysis: A 9.4 sold for $102 in 6/22. Remember the protest scene in ASM #38, in which Ditko depicted a group of student demonstrators as a loutish rabble of nincompoops? The episode caused consternation among Marvel's collegiate readership, who expected hipper attitudes from their Marvel mags, causing Stan to backpedal like mad in a subsequent letter column. Stan, duly chastened, gives us another protest rally in this ish. This time around, the protesters are sore at JJJ for ignoring inner-city concerns in favor of escapist sensationalism. Stan's sympathies clearly lie with the crowd: "The Bugle's unfair to MINORITY groups! People are HUNGRY — JOBLESS — ANGRY — and what does the Bugle do a series ABOUT? The adventures of KA-ZAR and some costumed WEIRDO!" Enjoying the Spidey Sale? Order a fully-illustrated softcover catalogue for 30 bucks. Only about 100 copies were printed and they're going fast.
