MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM [Spain, 14th century] 227 x 160 mm. On vellum with distinguishable hair and flesh sides, arranged according to Gregory. 455 leaves (imperfect at the beginning, see contents). Later Hebrew foliation in ink. Usually six bifolia per quire. Brown ink. Sephardic square scripts. Copied by two scribes. The first scribe copied fols. 1r-266r and pointed out his name, Jacob, on fol. 260r. The second, Hezekiah Kohen ben Isaac Hakohen, copied fols. 266v-455r and wrote the colophon on fol. 455r stating that he copied the manuscript for Moses Halevi, whose name was erased, with limited success, by a later owner. With contemporary and later marginal annotations in different hands (partly cropped), later running titles (partly cropped). (Some minor tears, hardly affecting the text, first and last leaves scuffed and with damage, some natural holes, slightly soiled and with some stains, generally good condition.) Modern blind and gold-tooled brown morocco, two modern paper flyleaves at back and front, old red stained edges.
