(6 x 4 1/16 in.), brown crushed levant morocco, title gilt-lettered on spine, turn-ins gilt, edges marbled and gilt, by THIBARON, very minor scuffing to head of spine and lower joint, two small discreet repairs to title, one touching 4 letters of imprint, three or four neat marginal repairs or small tears, washed and pressed, the treatment effacing early ownership inscription on title, manuscript numbering and a few marginalia . Fifth Paris edition, third edition of Jean Le Fèvre's free French translation or adaptation, 124 leaves, ruled in red throughout, Wechel's woodcut Pegasus device on title-page and verso of final leaf, woodcut initials, 111 WOODCUTS BY JEAN JOLLAT printed on versos above Latin text in italic type, Le Fèvre's French version in bâtarde type on facing versos, one full-page cut on L4v signed with Jollat's monogram, the woodcuts reprinted from the previous Wechel editions of 1534 and 1536 (cf.
