Lot of 13 photographs, ranging from CDV size, 2.5 x 4.25 in., to boudoir card size, 5 x 8 in., including a number of studio portraits and informal views of Alaska Natives, many of which are identified on mount verso. Four boudoir cards are credited to Edward de Groffs, Sitka, and show male subjects posed in a studio setting, including a portrait of a young man dressed in uniform, with a trumpet on the table beside him, identified as Edward Marsden on verso. Four photographs are credited to Reuben Albertstone & Co., Sitka, and include a cabinet card of "Mrs. Augustus Bean - Daughter of a Chief at Hoonah," and boudoir cards of an Alaskan guide and interpreter, a grave at "Notham Inlet," and a studio view of Alaska Natives in "Dancing Costumes." Additional images of note include an uncredited CDV of a young boy identified as "Allan, the Rescued Witch"; two 3.25 x 4.5 in. photographs showing the "First Garden in Sitka" and "Anna Hootz Chief of the Bear Tribe & his first wife." Condition: Some photos with minor spotting/soiling. Corner and edge wear to some of the mounts.
