Condition ReportThe canvas is tightly lined, which has caused the image to appear slightly pressed as a result. Underneath a yellowed varnish, the image reads well. Some small, darker pindots, which are likely bitumen, are scattered here and there especially in the upper background. Very few and tiny dots of loss are on the lower left quadrant, for example the pindot in the proper left leg of the sitting child. There are some minor frame abrasions visible along the edges. Inspection under UV reveals spots of retouches scattered, like for example in the faces of the sitters and dog, along the left bottom edge, and in the sleeve of the boy at far right. This painting could benefit from a light clean and re-varnishing. Offered in a giltwood frame with some minor nicks. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale.
