These extroardinarily fine impressions were made after etchings created between 1783 and 1786, and portray the edifices, gardens and palace grounds constructed from 1737 to 1766 for emperor K'ien-Long and painted by the Jesuit missionary Guiseppe Castiglione, known as Lang Che-Ning, to the Chinese court.
