AFTER FRANZ XAVER WINTERHALTER (ANGLO-GERMAN, 1805-1873) A pair of gilt-metal bracelets set with portraits of Victoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901), later Empress of Germany and Frederick William of Prussia (1831-1888), later Emperor Frederick III of Germany; she in white evening dress, wearing the family order of Victoria and Albert and a diamond necklace and earring, green and white head-dress; he, in blue military uniform with red and gold collar and epaulettes, wearing the orange sash and breast-star of the Royal Prussian Order of the Black Eagle, the collar of the Hohenzollern House Order, another collar and orders the miniatures on ivory both ovals, 1 3/16 in. (30 mm.) high, with blue enamel border, the former engraved on reverse, ‘Victoria / d. 29 April / 1858’, the latter, ‘Friedrich / Wilhelm / d. 29 April / 1858
