Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company was an American aircraft manufacturer that went public in 1916 with Glenn Hammond Curtiss as president. The company was the largest aircraft manufacturer in the United States in the 1920s and 30s. After Curtiss left the company, it became part of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation. Glenn Curtiss had originally been recruited by Alexander Graham Bell to be among the founding members of Bell's Aerial Experimental Association in 1907. Among the models pictured are the JN 4-D, the 18B and 18T, the Oriole, HS-2L, F5L, H-16, NC-4, motors for the K6 and OX-5. A portrait of Glenn Curtiss is also included as are pictures of the plant in Garden City.
