A WWII period Deck Log Book and White Ensign for the Tank Landing Ship HMS LST-3: the size 6 ensign stamped and inscribed '1942 HMS LST3 1946', 140 x 252cm, the Deck Log Book with entries dating between 30th March 1946 to 13th May 1946. covering the decommissioning voyage from Port Said to Norfolk Virginia, together with research ephemera.*Notes- LST-3 was built in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and launched on 19th September 1942. Serving in the USN she was assigned to the Mediterranean and took part in the Invasion of Sicily and Southern France. In 1944 she was decommissioned from the USN and commissioned to the Royal Navy the next day, and operated in the Mediterranean.*Provenance- From the Estate of Sub-Lieutenant John Elliot MBE, Navigator of LST-3. * Notes See Lot 535 Anderson & Garland Ltd, 8th May 2019.
