Lot 491 A Worcester lobed silver shaped dessert dish. painted with a vignette of colourful flowers reserved A Worcester lobed silver shaped dessert dish. painted with a vignette of colourful flowers reserved on a `wet blue' ground , diaper borders, 22.5cm diam, square mark, c.1770 Provenance: H. Rissik Marshall Collection label for Beauchamp Galleries London Vendor's Note - The Marshall Collection is the largest and most comprehensive collection of early Worcester porcelain (1751-1783) in existence. The collection was presented to the Ashmolean through the Art Fund by Mr & Mrs Henry Rissik Marshall in 1957, in memory of their only son, who was killed in action in 1944. Mr Marshall, who had turned to his collection after his only child died, had his ashes after his death, placed in one of the vases on display in the Museum.
