The cast curved spout with fluted scroll and shell capping opposite a carved fruitwood C scroll handle pinned to scroll junction, the hinged domed lid with an affixed stylised finial. Each side engraved with a contemporaneous Scottish coat of arms with motto below Fortitudine and a crest above of a lion’s head erased collared or, with a cadency mark for a third son. Fully marked underneath and part-marked to lid, engraved with a scratch weight 20 oz 4. Length – 15.8 cm / 10.05 inches Weight – 605 grams / 19.45 ozt The arms, motto and crest are for Barr of Scotland, probably Ayrshire
