A well engineered late 19th Century apprentice model of a single cylinder horizontal mill engine with brass bound mahogany lagged cylinder 1½in. bore x 2 1/8in. stroke, cylinder head and valve chest draincocks, cylinder lubricator, inlet and exhaust pipework, main stop and governor valve, studded stuffing boxes, pedestal mounted webbed crosshead guides, gibbed and cottered barrelled connecting rod with split brasses to big end, belt and gear driven Watt governor and linkage, spoked flywheel and 'V' belt pulley, finished in green, black with red and yellow lining and polished brightwork, mahogany stand -- 9 x 18in. (22.8 x 45.7cm.) wood box; and a late 19th Century rivetted copper centre flue boiler with water gauge with shut-off cocks, pressure gauge weight and lever safety valve (weight altered) , main stop and another valve and blowdown plug and metal stand (probably later) .
