A well engineered and presented 5in. gauge model of the 0-4-2 locomotive and tender "Lion"
A well engineered and presented 5in. gauge model of the 0-4-2 locomotive and tender "Lion", built by C. Hatfield, with brass-bound mahogany lagged brazed superheated copper haystack-type boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, twin salter safely valves, blower, warming steam, clack and blowdown valves. Chassis details include twin inside cylinders with slip eccentric reserve, draincocks, barrelled connecting rods, barrelled coupling rods with detailed bearings, eccentric driven lubricator, crosshead driven feed pump and bypass, working leaf springs, oak buffer beams, riveting, steps, hand irons and other details. Tender details include oak chassis and buffer beam, hand operated brake gear, hand feed pump, riveting and hand irons, finished in green, black, varnish and polished brightwork -- 37 x 94cm. (14½ x 37in.)
