A well engineered 3in. scale model of the Single Cylinder Two Speed, Three Shaft General Purpose Traction Engine Registration No. AD 1968, 'Old Sal' built by L.C. Dobbs from his own patterns and drawings, circa 1950 -- 28¾ x 44in. (73 x 112cm.) With brazed and riveted copper boiler with fittings, water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, injector, water lift, whistle and clack valves, engine details include 2in. bore x 2½in. stroke, footplate controlled draincocks and pipework, ratchet operated lubricator, Stephenson's link reverse, straped, wedged and bolted big end, two road speed's, eccentric driven feed pump and bypass, spoked flywheel and belt driven Pickering governor and valve. Chassis details include worm and roller chain steering, spoked straked wheels with brass hub caps, cable drum, cable and fair leads, foot plate control damper, water lift and suction pipe with rose, band brake to second shaft, injector, whistle and steersman's seat and headlamps. Finished in green, maroon, black and red, yellow and red lining and polished brightwork. Glazed showcase with cupboard under See colour illustration
