A VICTORIAN SILVER DISH COVER MARK OF ROBERT GARRARD LONDON, 1844 Fluted oval, with a finial cast as a Royal duke's coronet, engraved on one side with the Royal arms with label for difference accolé with the arms of Saxe-Meiningen within the Garter motto and below a Royal duke's coronet, the other side engraved with initial 'A' below the German Royal crown, marked near rim and on finial , with conforming Old Sheffield plate warming stand 14 in. (35.5 cm.) wide 57 oz. (1,764 gr.) The Royal arms are those of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn (1767-1820) accolé with those of his wife Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, Duchess of Kent (1786-1861), who he married in 1818. The initial is that of Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, The Prince Consort (1819-1861), who married their only child Queen Victoria (1819-1901) in 1840.
