A VICTORIAN SILVER DISH COVER MARK OF ROBERT GARRARD LONDON, 1844 Fluted circular, with a finial cast as a Royal duke's coronet, engraved on one side with the Royal arms with label for difference accolé with the arms of Saxe-Meiningen with the Garter motto and below a Royal duke's coronet, the other side engraved with initial 'V' below the Royal crown, marked near rim and on finial , with conforming Old Sheffield plate warming stand 9½ in. (24 cm.) diam. 29 oz. (900 gr.) The Royal arms are those of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn (1767-1820) accolé with those of his wife Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, Duchess of Kent (1786-1861), who he married in 1818. The initial is that of their only child Queen Victoria (1819-1901).
