No.2808 , Roman chapter ring with blued steel hands, subsidiary rings for seconds, also with blued steel hand and government arrow mark, the up-and-down sector at XII calibrated 0-56, the movement with lightly spotted plates, chain fusee and barrel, Earnshaw-type spring dettent escapement with helical steel spring to Dent's blued steel and brass staple balance, the backplate engraved with the government arrow, lacquered brass bowl stamped DENT 2808 to the interior and with Dent's hinged winding cap to the underside of the bowl, the three-tier box with circular bone plaque to the centre section engraved DENT 2808 two days and also with the government arrow mark, the inside of the top lid fitted with a label printed ISSUED FROM ROYAL OBSERVATORY, GREENWICH 24 April 1917 6¾ in. sq.
