A Victorian gilt-brass circular desk timepiece Thomas Cole London, No. 1336/13. Retailed by Tegelston & Thornley St. Petersburg. Circa 1855 The silvered dial engraved with geometric panels of flowers and foliage within an engraved Roman chapter ring with blued steel fleur-de-lys hands within a roundel engraved border signed at the top Egelsten & Thornley St. Petersburg , the movement with gilt-brass plates, spring barrel and four wheels (3 in jewells), lever escapement with three-arm steel balance wheel, the backplate signed Thos Cole London , the case band engraved with foliate strap work, the back cover numbered 1336/13 with slide to escapement viewing aperture, winding piece and easel stand; with the original circular red leather and chamois-lined travelling case 5in. (12.5cm.) high
