A VERY RARE YIXING SLIP-DECORATED BRUSH POT SIGNED YANG JICHU, QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795) The brush pot is finely decorated in various colours of slip in imitation of ink painting depicting a figure crossing the river in a tranquil landscape, detailed with dwellings and huts nestled among trees at the bottom of rolling hills, all against a dark purplish-brown ground. One side of the brush pot is stamped with two apocryphal seals reading Ming and Yuan. A maker's seal, Yang Jichu, is stamped in relief on the countersunk base. 6 in. (15.3 cm.) diam., box
